The dew point is the temperature at which air becomes saturated and moisture condenses. When your equipment’s surface temperature falls below this point, dew forms.

Use weather apps or astronomy tools to check the dew point and relative humidity before your session. If the dew point is within 2-3°C of the forecasted temperature and humidity is above 50%, be ready for dew.

Planning ahead means you can activate dew heaters or adjust your setup to avoid moisture buildup, keeping your images sharp and your gear safe.
